#2 SSMG SET REFURBISHMENT

Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA), Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY) intends to award a sole source, firm fixed price, Single Award Contract to Amee Bay, LLC. The contract is to perform an in-place refurbishment on #2 500KW SSMG set, which includes an in-place detergent/ water cleaning, stoning/polish commutator and slip rings, IR checks, undercut and bevel commutator and Total Indicated Runout (TIR) measurements to a satisfactory condition. This requirement is essential to continue to maintain and support the Navy’s mission. The required service is commercial and prepared in accordance with the policies and procedures of FAR Part 12 and FAR Part 13, using Simplified Acquisition Procedures.

The period of performance for this acquisition will begin immediately after the contract award. The Government intends to solicit and contract with only one source, Amee Bay, LLC , under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i) on a sole source basis. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code applicable to this procurement is 336611, Shipbuilding and Repairing, with a size standard of 1300. The Product Service Code is J019.

Amee Bay, LLC is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) of the SSMG and possesses the necessary technical data, specialized tools, and industry-specific expertise required to effectively perform the required work. Their extensive experience with the SSMG, along with their deep understanding of its operational intricacies, positions them as the most qualified provider for this project.
