Presolicitation Notice ¿ SRAO Microwave Batteries

The Bureau of Reclamation (BOR) requires the purchase of two (2) 48VDC Microwave battery systems which include a Microwave battery bank, battery rack (e.g., framework holding batteries), and battery accessories (e.g., straps, terminal covers).

This acquisition is 100% SET-ASIDE FOR SMALL BUSINESSES under the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code of 335910 ¿ Battery manufacturing with a Small Business Size Standard of 1,250 employees. The product service code is 6140 ¿ Batteries Rechargeables.

This RFQ is for the purchase of new batteries for our remote microwave communication sites. The batteries are required to be replaced every 7 years according to FIST 3-6. A 7 year rotation will occur, supplying batteries annually for 2 of the 16 sites, continuing with the battery purchase for 2 additional sites every year. Current year purchase is for Packer John and Deadwood Dam.

Reclamation intends to award one firm-fixed-price contract. The anticipated date to issue the Request for Quote, 140R1725Q0058, (written) is approximately the first week in August 2025. The anticipated closing date is the last week in August 2025. The anticipated award date is the second week in September 2025, but all dates in this notice are subject to change. Prospective vendors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) prior to the closing of the solicitation. Any amendments applicable to the solicitation will be posted at the same site.

This product will be purchased in accordance with FAR Part 12 and FAR Part 13, simplified acquisition procedures apply. The Government will evaluate quotes based on factors listed in the solicitation.
