    EXPRESSION OF INTEREST - PR16138571: Annex and Utility Building Roof Canopies

    The General Services Office (GSO) US Mission South Africa seeks to enter into a contract with qualified, reliable firms with sufficient resources, financing, and specific work experience related to STRUCTURAL STEEL canopy construction, for delivering and performing of services at US Consulate located on 1 Sandton Drive, Sandhurst, Johannesburg.

    The scope of work includes, but not limited to the following.

    • Establishment of site for installation and removal thereof on completion
    • Embassy Security Clearance on all contractors personnel to execute work on premises.
    • Associated preparation, clearing, protection, safety, and reinstatement on completion.
    • Adherence to OSH Act and health and safety compliance
    • Temporary protection of and support to existing equipment and property
    • Removal or relocate of existing equipment, electrical cabling and DB’s where indicated
    • Measure, submit shop drawings and manufacturing of steel staircase
    • Breaking of reinforced concrete and excavation for column footings
    • Installation of approximately 225 m2 steel canopies with Klip-Tite" Sheeting complete as per drawing including crane facilities.
    • Commission and handover of site

    A compulsory site meeting will be held at 1 Sandton Drive, Sandhurst, Johannesburg on Wednesday, 12 August 2026 @ 10h00 am during which brief the date and time of tender closure will be confirmed as well as the full Scope of Work and Tender documents be provided.

    All interested contractors must confirm their attendance no later than COB (17H00), 5 August 2026 via email to Adriaan Joubert (joubertad@state.gov), and CC nagleym@state.gov.

    Kindly provide the following on your confirmation of attendance.

    1. Reference Number RFQ Utility building steel canopies
    1. Full name of attendee with contact number (preferably only one representative per Company).
    2. Provide proof of ID at the site meeting.

    Please ensure you get an e-mail receipt acknowledgement from us in return to ensure you are added onto the attendee list.

    The following important requirements are applicable

    1. Only Contractors with specific structural steel construction experience with value above R 0.5 million may attend the site-meeting.
    2. Contractors are requested to bring their own measuring tape to the Site Meeting.
    3. Contractors will be required to provide proof and references of previous projects completed. Any Proposals received without this proof, will not be considered.

    U.S Embassy payment terms:

    i)          The US Embassy will make no provision for fluctuations in price or exchange rates after the order has been placed. If your price is dependent on these fluctuations, you MUST make provision for possible increases in your quoted price.

    ii)         The U.S Embassy does not authorize Advance (deposit) payments.

    1. Payment will be made via EFT into the company’s bank account, within 30 days of delivery of goods/services and receipt of proper Invoice.

    iv)        By submitting a Quotation, you are agreeing to waiver any payment terms that may be in contrast with the above.

    1. Payments for work completed will be done as follows.
    • Claim 1 as measured and certified on delivery to site of work completed and payable within 30 days of submission.
    • Claim 2 as measured and certified on 100 % completion of work and payable within 30 days of submission.

    Compulsory SAM Registration

    All tenderers must register with SAM - System for Award Management as part of the tender process.
