AI Summary
The U.S. Department of Transportation seeks support for the Aviation Environmental Design Tool development, focusing on aircraft noise and emissions modeling. The contract will be awarded on a sole source basis to ATAC Corporation, which has previously provided essential data extraction services. This opportunity is a presolicitation for a service contract.
The U.S. Department of Transportation, John A. Volpe National Transportation Systems Center (Volpe Center) Cambridge, MA is supporting the Federal Aviation Administration's Office of Environment and Energy (FAA AEE) as the Volpe Center has provided technical expertise and support to FAA for several decades in the area of aircraft noise measurement, analysis, and modeling, and has initiated similar efforts in the area of aircraft emissions and ambient air quality modeling. Significant among these efforts is support to FAA in the development of the Next Generation Air Transportation System (NextGen), including Aviation Environmental Design Tool (AEDT). This AEDT update builds upon detailed work completed as part of the original AEDT extraction capabilities using Performance Data Analysis and Reporting System (PDARS). ATAC was the sole organization performing the original PDARS extraction through its SkyView tool, proprietary to ATAC. The Volpe Center seeks the support of the contractor who has been accepted by the AEDT development team for extracting validation trajectory data. Therefore, the Government intends to award a purchase order on a sole source basis to ATAC Corporation.
