This is not a solicitation announcement for quotes or proposals and no contract will be awarded from this announcement. This sources sought notice has been issued to survey the market to identify possible sources for consideration. This notice is to assist the US Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) in determining potential sources. All firms responding to this sources sought notice are advised that their response to this notice is not a request to be considered for a contract award. The Fish and Wildlife Service is conducting market research to seek sources that have the capability to conduct investigatory gillnetting on Swan Lake Montana. This study is necessary to evaluate the amount of effort needed to remove non-native lake trout on a mass scale. Background: This project supports the range-wide Service goal of recovering threatened Bull Trout (Salvelinus confluentus) and increase it habittat in 3-5 years. During this study exploratory netting will be performed to evaluate the extent of lake trout proliferation within the lake. Deliverables identified will be the intensive gillnetting of lake trout, the quantified amount of effort expended during gillnetting activities and the identification of effort needed to achieve the objectives listed previously. The vendor must have an established history of performing gillnetting while minimizing bycatch. Place of Performance: Swan Lake Montana between July 14, 2024 and July 27, 2024. The job site is approximately 40 minutes southeast of Kalispell, Montana. See attached draft statement of work for additional details.
