This public notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with FAR Part 12 and utilizing some FAR Part 15 procedures. The solicitation is being released as anIndefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract competition. The Library of Congress National Library Service for the Blind and Print Disabled (NLS) requires contract support to produce, maintain, and support refreshable braille cell electronic reader devices (e-readers), spare parts, software, and auxiliary components. This contract shall include two performance areas to encompass all aspects of procuring new eReader devices and maintaining the new and existing stock at the Library. Performance Area 1 shall include the production and shipping of devices, quality assurance testing, and repair or replacement of broken, defective, or otherwise malfunctioning devices as well as software development sprints for new product lines. Performance Area 2 shall include the support, development, and repair of existing Zoomax and Humanware eReaders and Digital Talking Book Machines (DTBM) in the Librarys stock. Performance Area 2 is a sole source track for these businesses if they choose not to propose in Performance Area 1. Note: Performance Area 2 includes Justification & Approval for sole source supplies and services in relation to the existing NLS e-reader and Digital Talking Book Machine stock.
