    Description

The U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), has a requirement  that meets the specifications detailed in the attached solicitation.  The intent of this solicitation is to award a single, firm fixed-price contract.

Offers shall include a technical description of the items being offered in sufficient detail to evaluate compliance with the requirements in the solicitation.

The current need of nanoparticle synthesis and characterization stems from research involving gene silencing technologies for invasive species control including plants and algae. Two candidates, Mg-Al-lactate layered double hydroxide (LDH) and mesopores silica nanoparticles (MSNs), have been identified by EGSB researchers to be good candidates to serve as foliar delivery vehicles of gene silencing agents (GSAs) to improve the efficacy and stability of GSAs.  The contractor shall synthesize and characterize Mg-Al-lactate layered double hydroxide (LDH) and mesopores silica nanoparticles (MSNs). Characterization shall include concentration or mass, size distribution, zeta potential and atomic force microscopy (AFM) images.

SAM Registration: Pursuant to FAR 52.204-7, System for Award Management, prior to award offerors shall be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM), if you are not registered in SAM, an award CANNOT be made to your company. You may register electronically at http://www.SAM.gov.
