BACKGROUND
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is seeking information from sources that may be capable of supplying a compatible Scan Head for the Bruker Dimension Pro 200 Atomic Force Microscope (AFM). If no alternate sources are identified, the Government intends to issue a Sole Source Award to Bruker Nano, Inc (UEI: HF8BQ45QkkJ3), 5255 E Williams CIR,STE 2080, Tuscon, AZ 85711-4403, under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i). The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 334516.
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Precision Imaging Facility (PIF) requires repair services to their Bruker Dimension Pro 200 AFM. This AFM needs a replacement of the scan head to perform the necessary measurement needed by the PIF.
Market research and discussions with the microscope Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), Bruker, has determined that Bruker is the only provider of the proprietary Scan Head for the Dimension Pro 200 and that they do not use resellers or distributers. As such, any candidate that believes they can offer this proprietary service outside of the manufacturer must submit documentation to show they can provide maintenance and repair services to the following equipment:
