BACKGROUND: The DHA provides medical services to active duty, retired, and dependent beneficiaries worldwide. DHA currently has a contract in place to provide supplementary teleradiology services for images taken at 60+ MTFs worldwide with an estimated 600,000 annual reads. The teleradiology industry has grown and advanced since the time of award so the DHA is seeking knowledge of the teleradiology industry’s current capabilities including how the current industry can flex and adapt to meet the DHA’s evolving needs.
The anticipated requirement will involve 24/7/365 coverage for STAT, urgent, and routine cases including the secure receipt, interpretation, diagnosis, and reporting of radiology images transmitted between MTFs and the contractor. Studies may include Computed Tomography (CT) (to include head CTs for stroke); Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI); Ultrasound; X-Ray (general and specialized views) to include B-reads; Nuclear Medicine; Subspecialty interpretations (e.g., neuroradiology, musculoskeletal, pediatric); and over-reads for dental cone-beam CT imaging. Any services must be compliant with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Department of War (DoW) cybersecurity standards, and applicable licensure/credentialing requirements.
