    Description

    DPW/RCO Construction Industry Day 05 May 2026

    Date: 05 May 2026

    Time: 09:00 – 12:30 (CET)

Location: Hotel Viest, Via Uberto Scarpelli 41 - 36100 Vicenza

Response Date (RSVP Deadline, Not Mandatory but highly encouraged): 28 April 2026

The U.S. Army Garrison Directorate of Public Works (DPW) and the 414th Regional Contracting Office (RCO) are hosting a Construction Industry Day to provide a unique opportunity for contractors to engage directly with Government personnel. This event is designed to offer insight into upcoming construction contracts and provide technical and contracting information regarding Government construction requirements.

The projects discussed will primarily focus on facility sustainment, renovation, repair, and minor new construction. This event may be of less interest to firms that focus exclusively on large-scale, major new construction programs (i.e., MILCON).

This will be a dual-language (English and Italian) event. Government representatives from both the U.S. and Italian staff will be available to answer questions.

To facilitate detailed and meaningful technical discussions, we highly encourage companies to send personnel who are directly involved in project execution, such as Project Managers, Site Safety and Health Officers, and Quality Control Managers, in addition to or in place of general business development staff.

All interested construction firms are encouraged to attend to better understand how to effectively compete for future contracts and support the mission readiness of our military facilities.

    1. Purpose

This Industry Day is a valuable opportunity for contractors to engage directly with government representatives. The primary goals are to:

    • Share details of upcoming construction projects and procurement opportunities.
    • Provide a forum for contractors to ask questions of DPW technical staff and RCO contracting personnel.
    • Offer insight into government contracting procedures, from proposal submission to post-award administration.
    • Foster networking opportunities between prime contractors, potential subcontractors, and government representatives.
    • Help industry partners understand how to effectively compete for future contracts and support the mission readiness of our military facilities.

    2. Event Format

The day will begin with a formal Welcome and Introduction briefing. This initial session will introduce the DPW and RCO teams and provide an overview of the main types and general scope of our construction projects. We will also discuss key personnel roles required for our contracts (such as Quality Control Manager and Site Safety and Health Officer) and the typical training and experience expectations for these positions.

Following the introduction, the event will proceed in an open-house format with opportunities for both informal networking and structured learning:

    • Open House Technical Stations: Technical staff from the DPW will host informational stations focused on various construction disciplines (e.g., Electrical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering, etc.). This allows for direct one-on-one engagement where contractors can ask specific questions and understand the technical expectations of Government construction requirements.
    • Optional Briefing Sessions: Throughout the morning, RCO will host optional, informal breakout sessions on key contracting topics. These sessions are designed to assist new and current contractors. Anticipated topics include:
      • How to Register and Navigate SAM.gov
      • Understanding the Post-Award Process
      • Wide Area Work Flow (WAWF) Invoice Submissions

A detailed agenda with specific times for the Introduction Briefing and the Optional Briefing Sessions will be posted as an update to this notice closer to the event date.

    3. Submission of Questions in Advance

To ensure the most productive discussion possible, contractors are invited to submit specific questions in advance. Submitting questions by the RSVP deadline of 28 April 2026 will allow Government personnel to research and prepare more thorough and detailed answers to be addressed during the event. Please submit your questions via email to the points of contact listed in the Registration section with the subject line "Advance Questions for Construction Industry Day".

    4. Registration

Attendance is free; however, pre-registration is highly encouraged to ensure adequate space and resources. Please RSVP by 28 April 2026.

Interested parties should email stacey.l.miller45.civ@army.milalmamy.k.toure.mil@army.mil, and mohammed.n.gordon.mil@army.mil with the subject line "RSVP for Construction Industry Day" and include the following information for each attendee:
