    9 MILE HAND THINNING

    The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Nevada State Office has a requirement for the vegetation management activities with an objective of reducing hazardous fuels. Treatments are designed to break up fuel continuity across the landscape to reduce the threat of large, uncharacteristic wildfires that could potentially lead to loss of key ecosystem components. The contractor is responsible for furnishing all labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, supplies and materials to lop and scatter 3,761 acres (Units 1-15) of pinyon and/or juniper trees. There may be up to an additional 255 acres (Unit 16) indicated as an option item that would be awarded subject to available funding. The option unit would require all live and standing dead skeletons of pinyon pine and juniper trees (less than 16-inch Diameter at Root Collar) to be cut and piled. A maximum of 4,016 acres would be treated under this contract. The Solicitation will include contract documents with details of the project when it is released.

    Project sites are located in White Pine County, Nevada. Service Contract Act (SCA) Wage Rate Requirements are applicable to this project and the appropriate SCA Wage Decision(s) will be included in the solicitation.

    The BLM will issue a Total Small Business Set-Aside competitive solicitation on/about June 5, 2025. The BLM anticipates issuing a single firm fixed price award from this solicitation.

    The competitive solicitation, 140L3925R0007, will be in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 19.5, Set-Asides for Small Business. The NAICS code for this acquisition is 115310, Support Activities for Forestry, Fuels Management Services and the size standard is $34.0M (per the SBA’s Table of Small Business Size Standards).

    A Request for Proposal (RFP) solicitation package will be available electronically on or about June 5, 2025, at the SAM website located at www.sam.gov. Proposals will be due no later than June 20, 2025. Potential offerors are responsible for monitoring www.sam.gov for the release of the solicitation package, for any other pertinent information, and for downloading a complete copy of the solicitation package. The government will not provide paper copies of the solicitation. To be eligible for contract award, offerors must be registered, and currently active, and complete the online Representations and Certification in the System for Award Management (SAM) data base via website: http://www.sam.gov.

    Award will be based on Best Value to the Government in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR). The Government reserves the right to award a contract to other than the low offeror(s).
