    The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Wilmington District requires a contract to perform maintenance dredging of the Maintenance Dredging, Military Ocean Terminal, Sunny Point (MOTSU), Brunswick County, North Carolina.

    The work will consist of removal and disposal of shoaled material that has accumulated in the basins and channels since they were last dredged.  Dredging of the channels and basins shall be performed by mechanical dredge (clamshell, dragline or dipper). The dredging depth is 38 feet plus 2 feet of allowable overdepth for the Approach Channel South Entrance, South Wharf Turning Basin, Approach Channel South to Center Wharf, the Center Wharf Turning Basin and Approach Channel Middle Entrance. The dredging depth is 34 feet plus 2 feet of allowable overdepth for the Approach Channel Center to North Wharf and the North Wharf Turning Basin. Placement of dredged material shall be in the Ocean Dredged Material Disposal Site (ODMDS) for all dredged channels. There is an environmental window for dredging by mechanical dredge in the MOTSU basins and channels beginning 1 October and ending 30 June. The total quantity of material to be dredged, including allowable overdepth, is estimated to be 705,000 cubic yards.

    There is an October 1 – June 30 window for maintenance dredging of remainder of MOTSU basin with mechanical and pipeline dredges, and a December 1 – April 15 window for hopper dredges (SARBO).

    This solicitation is Unrestricted.  

    The contract issued will be Firm Fixed Price.

    The Magnitude of Construction of this project is between $5,000,000.00 and $10,000,000.00. 

    This solicitation will be issued in electronic format only and will be available on or about 18 April 2025.

    The bid opening date will be specified in the solicitation when it is issued. No additional media (CD-ROM, floppy disks, facsimiles, etc) will be provided.   Paper copies of this solicitation will not be available. Other methods of requesting a package will not be honored.
