A2: No, paragraphs a-d will not be required. Q3: SOW Legionella Sampling, Section 5.3 states: If Legionella pneumophila (P) species is detected in the samples, further delineation of serogroup types for positive samples is required. Can the government clarify if delineation of Legionella pneumophila serotypes to serotype 1 and serotypes 2-15 is sufficient or are individual serotypes required (for example Legionella pneumophila serotype 5)? A3: The laboratory to be contracted is to determine if there is legionella in the sample and the level (in cfu/ml) of legionella identified. If so, the laboratory is required to determine if the legionella is pneumophila. If so, the laboratory is required to determine all the serogroups are 1-15 in the sample. If the legionella sample is not pneumophila the laboratory is to identify the legionella species identified in the sample.
