The project will renourish approximately 3.2 miles of critically eroded shoreline along Venice Beach just south of Venice Inlet in Sarasota County, Florida. The project area extends from just north of FDEP Range Monument R-116 in the north to R-133 in the south. Beach compatible sand for the project will be dredged from an offshore borrow area located approximately 10 nautical miles southwest from the center of the project site. Five existing stormwater outfalls will be extended. Project work also includes, but is not limited to, screening, MEC construction support, beach tilling, hardbottom surveying and monitoring, vibration monitoring, sea turtle trawl sweeping and relocation, and environmental and water quality monitoring.
