INDUSTRIAL WORM GEAR SERVICE

The US Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District, intends to procure this requirement on a sole source basis in accordance with the statutory of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) as implemented by FAR (RFO) 12.102(a), Purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold and Only One reasonable available.

The US Army Corps of Engineers, Rock Island District, intends to enter a fixed-price contract with Timken Gears & Services Inc. of Mokena, IL  for eight Philadephia Gear, 1800DHV, industrial-output worm gear speed reducers to have a manufacture approved service to ensure seals are tight and to remove, repare, and replace expiring preventative with a new blend of manufacturer's long term proprietary preventative that shall take place in a controlled envirnoment.  

The NAICS code for this procurement is 237990 with a size standard of $45,000,000.

THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES and no solicitation will be issued; however, any small-business firm that believes it can meet the requirement may give written notification to the Contracting Officer in the form of a capability statement. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the requirement listed and must be furnished to the point of contact listed below by the stated deadline on this notice. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
