Project Overview
The U.S. Department of State is the lead institution for the conduct of American diplomacy, and the Secretary of State is the President's principal foreign policy advisor. The Department's mission is to advance U.S. national security interests, counter terrorism, protect U.S. interests abroad, and implement foreign policy initiatives that build a freer, more prosperous, and more secure world.
The Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL), through the U.S. Embassy in Panama, is authorized to provide technical assistance to the Government of Panama under the Technical Assistance Act of 1961.
INL Panama works in close collaboration with the Government of Panama to develop and implement strategies to counter drug trafficking, organized crime, and border security threats. INL Panama also coordinates with other U.S. Government agencies to ensure that partner nations receive the training and tools necessary to combat drug trafficking and transnational criminal organizations.
In support of these efforts, INL Panama requires the procurement of Cellebrite software and equipment. This acquisition supports the Law Enforcement Citizen Security and Counter Narcotics Program with the Government of Panama's National Police, with the goal of improving local security and enhancing the identification of transnational criminal activity and narcotics trafficking.
