INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE FOR FIBER MAPPING AT MORON AIR BASE, SPAIN

The 496 ABS Communications flight has a requirement for a reliable and unclassified mapping of Morón Air Base fiber lines to forces in support of Command, Control, Computer, Communications and Intelligence (C4I) for real-world operations and exercises to United States Air Force, Joint and Coalition operating forces worldwide.

The existing network includes inter and intra building fiber routes that support operational communications, network services, and secure systems. Infrastructure changes and incomplete records have diminished the accuracy of current documentation. The project will survey and map all accessible fiber optic cabling and provide deliverables that enhance the unit’s capability to manage and expand the network architecture.

Due to the existing infrastructure in place a sole source award will be executed to provide complete compatibility to the Government. Please refer to the attached Sole Source Justification letter for further specifics.
