INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE

The MCI-East Regional Contracting Office intends to award a sole-source, firm-fixed-price purchase order to Haivision Systems Inc. (CAGE: 4KCG5) for proprietary premium technical support and maintenance services for the Haivision Secure Media Distribution (SMD) system.

This procurement will be conducted in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures, and the authority of FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. The Government has determined that Haivision Systems Inc. is the only source capable of providing the required proprietary software updates, firmware, and specialized support necessary to maintain the operational readiness of the existing system. This action will result in a firm-fixed-price purchase order.

THIS IS NOT A FORMAL REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. No solicitation document will be posted. The purpose of this synopsis is to fulfill the public notification requirement. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future.
