JOFOC IRIDIUM SATELLITE RADIO SUBSCRIPTION

This is a new award for a Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP) contract to request limited competition to companies able to provide an annual subscription of Push-To-Talk (PTT) Radio Annual Service and Talk Group Management with the brand name ICOM Inc operated by the US-based satellite company, Iridium Communications INC. 

These services require the contractor to provide one year of service for thirty-six (36) ICOM radios across fifteen (15) Iridium talk group configurations, including setup, maintenance, and ongoing management to enable satellite communication among the radios on critical open water operations.

This acquisition is conducted under the authority of the Multiple-Award Schedule Program (41 U.S.C. 152(3) and 40 U.S.C. 501), as implemented in FAR 8.405.6 by the following: An item peculiar to one manufacturer can be a particular brand name, product, or a feature of a product, peculiar to one manufacturer. A brand name item, whether available on one or more schedule contracts, is an item peculiar to one manufacturer.
