    STATEMENT OF NEED PHARMACY AUTOMATED PRESCRIPTION FULFILLMENT SYSTEM (APFS) PART I: BACKGROUND INTRODUCTION The Department of Veteran Affairs, Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy(CMOP) National Office currently oversees seven CMOP facilities located across the United States at the following locations: Station # Site Address 760 Leavenworth 5000 S. 13th Street, Leavenworth, KS 66048-5580 761 Chelmsford 10 Industrial Avenue, Chelmsford, MA 01824-3610 762 Tucson 3675 Britannia Drive, Tucson, AZ 85706-5041 763 Lancaster 2962 S. Longhorn Drive, Lancaster, TX 75134-2118 764 Murfreesboro 5171 Sam Jared Drive, Murfreesboro, TN 37130 3209 Elam Farms Parkway, Murfreesboro, TN 37127-8830 765 Hines 5th & Roosevelt, Building 37 NW Dock 18, Hines, IL 60141 766 Charleston 4136 Carolina Parkway, Ladson , SC 29456 The Department of Veteran Affairs Medical Centers(VAMC), Community Based Outpatient Clinics(CBOCs) and Indian Health Service Pharmacies(IHS), sends pharmaceutical prescription orders to be filled and mailed out to Veteran patients, to the CMOPs. Combined the seven CMOPs mail out, on average 530,000 prescriptions daily through the combined use of advanced automation equipment set up into various subsystems that communicate to form the APFS at each of the CMOPs. Based upon agreements with other Federal agencies, there s a potential for future production growth.
