    Description

    1. The 502d Contracting Squadron (CONS), Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA) Lackland, TX intends to award a- sole-source to San Antonio Laser Engraving, under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), for a purchase order for Laser Etchers.

    2. This requirement is for the acquisition of laser etchers for the 433rd Maintenance Squadron's Aircraft Generation Equipment and Aircraft Structural Maintenance Tool room operations IAW AFI 21-101. This directive mandates all tools in Air Force tool rooms to be legibly and durably marked for accountability, identification, and compliance with strict tool control standards. 

    3. San Antonio Laser Engraving is the authorized distributor of the laser etchers within the United States for military and industrial procurement. As the manufacturer and distributer, San Antonio Laser Engraving is uniquely qualified to provide on-site training for FLASH/SPARK curriculum.

    4. This NOTICE OF INTENT is not a Solicitation, or Request for Quote. Its a Government notification intended to proceed with a Sole-source. Pursuant to FAR 13.501(a)iii, Special Documentation requirements, the formal justification and approval for this action shall be posted with this publication. Please see attachment below.
