    Description

The New York District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) proposes to perform maintenance dredging of the Bronx River, NY Federal Channel. The dredged material would be dredged and subsequently placed at the Historic Area Remediation Site (HARS), approximately four (4) miles east of Sandy Hook, New Jersey. Placement at the HARS requires the contractor to utilize large-capacity ocean-going scows. The proposed maintenance dredging would remove approximately 200,000 cubic yards of dredged material from the Bronx River. Dredging would be required to a depth of -10 feet plus one (1) feet allowable over depth. The dredged material consists primarily of sand and silt. It is anticipated that miscellaneous marine debris will be encountered during dredging operations. This debris will need to be appropriately removed and disposed of at a contractor furnished disposal facility.

Once the contract is awarded, the proposed contractor will be required to maintain minimum daily production of 8,000 CY with the use of a mechanical "clamshell" bucket. The anticipated environmental no-work window is from January 01 to September 30. The period of performance will begin once the Notice to Proceed is issued and acknowledged by the Contractor. Failure to complete the work within the period of performance, including contract modifications, will result in the Contractor paying liquidated damages.

    This is an unrestricted procurement.
