MOGADISHU SOMALIA LODGING FACILITY CONSTRUCTION

The proposed contract action is for construction services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-2.  The work to be performed will provide for Design-Build construction of a hardened lodging facility in Mogadishu, Somalia inside the Mogadishu International Airport’s Green Zone.  The immediacy of the Government’s need and the continuing nature of the injury means that the Government needs to sole source this work to one contractor; competition would result in an unacceptable delay with a continuing injury of being unable to meet mission, increase risk to personnel, and additional cost incurrence.  The NAICS Code for this procurement is 236220 and the annual size standard is
$45,000,000. The PSC Code for this work is Z2JZ Repair or Alteration of Miscellaneous Buildings. The expected magnitude of construction is between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000.
