NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE: AIP LAB CO2 CYLINDERS BPA

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to Airgas for to obtain CO2 gas needed for CDC Arctic Investigations Program Lab operations at the CDC Anchorage Alaska lab. The AIP lab has been using a government purchase card to procure the required CO2 gas supplied in 50lb cylinder as needed for the past decade. Only one source is capable in Anchorage, Alaska that meets the required cylinder size and local delivery in the area. This contract action is for supplies and/or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP). 

This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within 10 days of the issuance of this notice shall be considered by the government.  A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.  Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.  Any quotation/response should be emailed to contract specialist at  zus0@cdc.gov by March 10, 2026 at 4:30PM EST.
