The National Institutes of Health (NIH), Clinical Center, Office of Purchasing and Contracts (OPC), on behalf of the Department of Transfusion Medicine, intends to award a firm-fixed-price contract on a sole-source basis to Blood Bank Computer System Corporation (BBCS) for a one-year Express Maintenance Software Maintenance Service Agreement. The anticipated period of performance is March 18, 2026, through March 17, 2027.

The Department of Transfusion Medicine requires continued support, software services, and licenses for the BBCS proprietary Blood Donor Software Application. The system is essential to the daily operations of the Transfusion Services Section and integrates with the Clinical Center’s Hospital Information System (HIS).

The BBCS software also generates operational and inventory reports used to monitor blood supply levels within the hospital and maintains electronic records for both patients and blood donors, which are critical to transfusion operations and regulatory compliance.
