Notice of Intent to Sole Source for Fish Barrier North Light Mast RepairsIn compliance with FAR Subpart 13.106-1(b) and 13.501(a) (1)(i) coupled with the provisions set forth by FAR Subpart 5.101(a)(1), this Notice is hereby published to inform of the following:The USACE Chicago District intends to award a sole source contract to ROSO CONSTRUCTION INC. (CAGE: 9P1L1). This requirement is for the following:The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers needs to repair a light mast at the Aquatic Nuisance Species Dispersal Barrier in Lockport, IL. They initially contracted Roso Construction Inc. to do similar work. During that time, they discovered additional issues. They tried to modify the existing contract with Roso to cover the new repairs, but system issues caused a delay, and by the time they were resolved, the contract had already expired. To ensure the light mast is fixed quickly and safely, and to avoid potential operational disruptions at the barrier, they are awarding a new sole-source contract to Roso Construction Inc. Roso is already familiar with the equipment, the site, and the safety procedures because of the previous contract, making them the most efficient option.The Government intends to negotiate solely with Roso Construction Inc. under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b), Only One Source being reasonably available to meet the Government?s needs. Far Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items and FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures, apply. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Code will be 238210, the size standard will be $19.0M dollars and the Product Service Code (PSC) will be J059.Please be advised the aforementioned information is anticipatory in nature and is not binding.THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES and no solicitation will be issued; however, any responsible source believing that it can fulfill the requirement may be considered by the agency. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this synopsis and must clearly show the firm?s ability to be responsive without compromising the quality, accuracy, and reliability of services provided.
