NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE

Micro-Optic Stripe (MOS) is a specially designed feature that is bonded onto Type VI distinctive currency paper. During the Type VI distinctive currency paper making process the MOS is accurately applied to be registered, in both horizontal and vertical directions, to distinctive substrate watermarks. This results in the creation of an overt security feature on the Catalyst Family Design (CFD) Federal Reserve Note (FRN) produced by the Bureau of Engraving & Printing. 

The intended contractor is Crane Company Inc. This notice of intent is not a request for offers. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice, if any, is solely within the discretion of the Government. The NAICS code is 322299 and the small business size standard is 1,000 employees. This is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties who believe they possess the technical capabilities to satisfy this requirement should submit documentation that clearly demonstrates their technical capabilities. Responses to this notice shall be received no later than 5:00 p.m. EST on Thursday, October 16, 2025. All responses shall be submitted in writing, and via email, to the point of contact specified in this notice. Any cost associated with the preparation and submission of data or information or any other costs incurred in responding to this notice is the sole responsibility of the respondent and will not be reimbursed by the Government. Interested parties must be registered and currently active in the System for Award Management (SAM), found at https://www.sam.gov. Responses MUST be received no later than the closing date/time specified in this notice by e-mail or other mail service.
