    Description

    American Embassy in Bucharest (4-6 Dr. Liviu Librescu Blvd.) requires services of an experienced Contractor who can demonstrate compliance with its certification program requirements to design and build the extension of an existing parking canopy, as identified in the Statement of Work (SOW). The existing parking canopy is built over two parking spots, and the services that are purchased are for its extension over two adjacent parking spots. The extension must be designed and built identically in shape, structure and finishes to the existing one and be connected to it resulting in a unitary structure. Additionally, fixed awnings (without any mechanical or electrical actuation or mobile parts) will be installed on the canopies to protect the 4 parking spots from harmful UV rays. This is a fixed price contract.The works shall not be measured and paid on the unit rate basis. The SOW identifies estimated quantities for works based on drawings of the structures. The Contractor may choose to verify these measurements on-site prior submission of a cost proposal and the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) will facilitate such site visit. The Contractor shall engage a licensed engineer to review and fully develop the conceptual design for a permanent parking canopy. Work must be done by a licensed engineer with at least 5 years’ experience in US or Romania using IBC 2018 with OBO ICS 2023 and ASCE 7-10. The Contractor shall provide plans and details of the final structure system for COR review. Design calculations of all elements, including connections, where applicable. The addition of an awning to existing canopy should be reviewed for loads imposed on the existing elements. The Contractor shall provide site assessment and survey services, project management, skilled staff for professional all works requested, all equipment and tools to perform the works, logistics and material procurement services and general support services for this works contract. All deliverables, documents, proposals etc. submitted by the Contractor under this statement of work shall remain the property of the U.S. Government. All U.S. Government documents and data provided to the Contractor shall remain the property of the U.S. Government. The Contractor shall limit duplication and dissemination of all U.S. Government documents and Contractor developed documents under this statement of work to/within the Contractor’s execution team. Duplication or distribution of project documents outside the Contractor’s team is strictly prohibited without the express written approval and authorization of the contracting officer. All drawings shall be in the bilingual in the English and Romanian language with dimensions, weights, and sizes in both metric and English measurement systems, with metric as the primary system. This is a FIRM FIXED PRICE CONTRACT payable entirely in RON (Romanian Leu).
