The DOI-U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), JAO, Falls Church, VA intends to award a sole source firm fixed price order under authority of FAR 6.302-1, Other than Full and Open Competition procedures, and FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition procedures to. Geological Survey of Alabama (GSA), Tuscaloosa, Alabama. This requirement is for continuity of services based on the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) established between FWS Alabama Ecological Field Office and GSA for approximately 426 sq ft. of office electricity costs reimbursement. The GSA has worked collaboratively with Alabama ESFO for the past 10 years to provide ongoing support for the restoration and recovery of aquatic resources in Alabama. It was determined mutually beneficial for the Alabama ESFO and GSA staff to be co-located at the GSA Tuscaloosa, Office to expand the partnering efforts that benefit conservation and outreach across the state of Alabama. After reviewing costs and space available in the local area versus the space available at cost, the significant benefits to the Government were obvious in co-locating with GSA and share electricity cost for office, meeting, and storage areas. These activities have followed a decision-based framework and reaching a critical phase where continued collaboration with GSA is critical to ensure the technical assistance in the application of geology, biology, water quality, water resources assessments, and deployment of spatial digital databases for various activities is successfully achieved. These services consist of cooperative field investigations of natural resources at a local level, advocating for a comprehensive resource management planning, providing digital products and information, and share technical leadership in the application of geology, habitat assessment, land classification, and interpretation of geo-referenced digital databases in counties of Alabama. The North American Industry classification (NAICS) code is 926130.
