Introduction The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Benefits Administration, Chicago Regional Office, IL, is conducting market research to identify qualified sources for On-Site Document Shredding Services. This is a sources sought notice and not a solicitation. The information received will be used for planning purposes to determine the appropriate acquisition strategy for the forthcoming Request for Quote (RFQ). Scope of Services The anticipated requirement is for secure, on-site shredding of sensitive documents at the Chicago Regional Office. The contractor will be responsible for providing all labor, equipment, and materials necessary to perform document shredding services in compliance with federal security and privacy standards. The applicable SIN Category is 561990 (Other Support Services), and the Product Service Code (PSC) is R614 (Support-Administrative: Paper Shredding). Eligibility Criteria Seeking any interested small businesses that can perform shredding services for the Department of Veteran Affairs, Veterans Benefits Administration, Support Services Division (VARO 328) located at 2122 Taylor St., Chicago IL 6012. Interested sources must have active registrations in SBA.gov at the time of response. If you are Veteran Owned Small Business (VOSB), you must include proof of active status in VetCert and SBA.gov registration. Period of Performance The potential Request for Quotation (RFQ) will be for a base year plus four (4) one-year option periods. Procedural Information The RFQ will follow procedures outlined in FAR Part 12 (Acquisition of Commercial Items) and, if applicable, the VA Acquisition Regulation (VAAR). Submission Instructions Interested and eligible SDVOSBs must submit their responses via email to raymond.tracey@va.gov. Responses must be received no later than March 26, 2026, 3:00 PM EDT. No phone calls will be accepted. Responses must include: Proof of active VetCert status if a Veteran Owned Small Business (VOSB) and includes ( SDVOSB) at SBA.gov. Proof of SBA.gov registration Company name, point of contact, and DUNS or UEI number Contact Information All responses must be submitted via email to raymond.tracey@va.gov. This sources sought notice does not constitute a solicitation for proposals, quotations, or bids. Your reply is strictly for market research purposes to determine strategy for issue of a Request for Quote ( RFQ) . The VA will not reimburse any costs associated with responding to this notice. The information provided will assist the VA in determining the set-aside and acquisition strategy for the future procurement of on-site document shredding services at the Chicago Regional Office.
