AI Summary
The Department of Defense, specifically the Army, is seeking sources for the rewrite of the Chemically Protected Deployable Medical System (CP DEPMEDS) Technical Manual (TM) by June 12, 2025. This project involves updating the manual to reflect a transition from a four-level to a two-level maintenance philosophy, in compliance with MIL-STD 40051-2. Key updates include modernizing equipment components and changing the configuration from legacy to contemporary hospital setups. Interested bidders should refer to solicitation W911QY-25-R-A010 for further details.
Please see solicitation W911QY-25-R-A010 and accompanying attachments. The current version of the Chemically Protected Deployable Medical System (CP DEPMEDS) Technical Manual (TM) requires rewrite to address three aspects. The existing TM requires rewrite to reflect conversion from its existing four-level maintenance philosophy to a two-level maintenance compliant with the latest MIL-STD 40051-2 and Document Type Definition (DTD) standard. Several of the CP DEPMEDS components of the legacy CP DEPMEDS equipment sets have been replaced by modern components that are in use by the Joint Expeditionary Collective Protection (JECP) system. The rewritten CP DEPMEDS TM shall reflect these equipment changes, which include the following: Replacement of the existing framed tent systems (the Alaska Shelter System) to the modern TEMPER Airbeam Supported (TAS) shelter system. Replacement of the existing Field Deployable Environmental Control Unit (FDECU) with the JECP 6-ton Environmental Control Unit (ECU). Replacement of the existing M28 Simplified Collective Protection Equipment filtration support kits with the modern 400 CFM (Cubic Feet per Minute) Fan Filter Assembly (FFA). Replacement of the existing Tunnel, Airlock, Litter Patients (TALPs) and Protective Entrance (PE) airlocks with a variant of the JECP Multi-Person Airlock (MPE). Replacement of the existing chemical/biological (CB) protective liners with the modern equivalents that utilize sealed zippers to replace the two-track closures on the legacy liners. The rewritten CP DEPMEDS TM must reflect the change in configuration of the CP DEPMEDS equipment sets. The configuration of the CP DEPMEDS sets has changed from the legacy Medical Re-engineering Initiative (MRI) hospital configuration to modern Force Design Update (FDU) hospital configuration. The legacy MRI configuration included three CP DEPMEDs set sizes: a 40-bed set, a 44-bed set, and a 164-bed set. The modern FDU configuration includes four CP DEPMEDS set sizes: a 32-bed Hospital Unit Base (HUB) set, a 24-bed Surgical Augment set, a 32-bed Medical Augment set, and a 60-ned Intensive Care Ward set.
