The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers - Vicksburg District (USACE-MVK), in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures, intends to award a sole source purchase order to Alexandria Armature Works, Inc. (CAGE Code: 1XBZ3) for the all plant, labor, equipment, and supplies to furnish and deliver four bevel gears, two line shafts, two electric motors and rebuild two electric motors. The delivery and installation address: 300 Control House Road Colfax, LA 71417. The two electric motors for rebuilding can be delivered to the contractor only if they are within 50 miles of 300 Control House Road Colfax, LA. If Contract is awarded to a vendor outside a 50 mile radius, contractor shall be responsible for packaging, pickup, and transporting the motors for repair and back for delivery to 300 Control House Road Colfax, LA. All items shall be delivered no less than three months after date of award.
Supplies/Services:
Bevel Gears. The contractor shall provide all plant, labor, equipment, materials, and
supplies to furnish and deliver four bevel gears with keys as described in the attached
drawings. New bevel gears shall be forged steel ASTM A 291, Class 5 conforming to AGMA
Grade 2 Steel. Dimensions and tolerances are described in the drawing. The scale and
shapes in the drawings may distorted. They are photos of the actual paper drawings. All
gears and keys shall be coated with not less than .025” thick anti-rust coating equivalent
and equal to Cosmoline RP 342.
Line Shafts. The contractor shall provide all plant, labor, equipment, materials, and
supplies to furnish and deliver two drive shafts and two sets of keys as described in the
attached drawings. Dimensions, tolerances and materials are described in the drawings.
There may be distortion in the scale and shape of the drawing due to them being photos of
the paper copies. All line shafts and keys shall be coated with not less than .025” thick antirust
coating equivalent and equal to Cosmoline RP 342.
Replacement Motor Specifications. The contractor shall provide two new, unused
electric motors equivalent and equal to Ruel and Product Number 0100E-1AEB-0013.
Motor Refurbish Specifications. MVK will provide two used inoperable Reuland 0100E-
1AEB-0013 electric motors. The contractor shall provide all plant, labor, equipment, and
materials to disassemble, clean, rewind the stator, replace all bearings and seals. All
replacement parts must be OEM or approved equivalent. If the motors are damaged while in
possession of the contractor, the contractor shall repair or replace damaged components
to OEM specifications at the expense of the contractor. Once repairs are complete the
contractor shall test the refurbished motors to ensure safe and effective operation. The
used motors are currently at the MVK central maintenance unit at 300 Control House Road
Colfax, LA. These motors will be available for viewing for three days during the
advertisement of this contract. These dates will be established just prior to solicitation.
MVK will deliver and/or pickup the old motors to any motor shop withing 50 miles of Colfax,
Louisiana. If the contract is awarded to a vendor outside of the 50 mile radius, the
contractor will be responsible for packaging, pickup, and transporting the motors for repair
and delivery back to the central maintenance unit.
This is not a Request for Quote (RFQ), and no solicitation is available for this procurement. Nevertheless, any firm or individual that believes it can meet the Vicksburg District’s requirements described herein may submit a capabilities statement, which, if received by 3:00 PM CST on 20 August 2025, will be considered. Responses to this posting must be submitted via e-mail, no phone calls will be accepted. A determination not to compete this purchase based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Federal Government.
