    Description

Submission Guidance: Responses to this RFI will be collected through CPE CBRND's Joint Enterprise Technology Tool (JETT). To share your capabilities, please visit https://jacks.jpeocbrnd.army.mil/JETT and select "Respond to an RFI." THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY – This RFI is issued solely for market research, information, and planning purposes – it does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP)/Request for Quote (RFQ) or a promise to issue an RFP/RFQ in the future. Solicitations are not available at this time. Requests for a solicitation will not receive a response. This notice does not constitute a commitment by the United States Government (USG) to contract for any supply or service whatsoever. All information submitted in response to this announcement is voluntary; the USG will not pay for information requested nor will it compensate any respondent for any cost incurred in developing information provided to the USG. Not responding to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future RFP/RFQ, if any is issued. The Capability Program Executive for Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Defense’s (CPE CBRND) Joint Project Manager for CBRN Integrated Early Warning (JPM CBRN IEW) delivers and enables integrated, interoperable, and interdependent CBRN defense capabilities for the Joint Force across Combined Joint All-Domain Operations. The JPM CBRN IEW team provides integrated early warning capability by bringing together the products in the portfolio with robotics and autonomous systems, decision support tools, machine learning, and artificial intelligence to provide situational awareness and understanding of CBRN threats. This effort is further supported by: Joint Science and Technology Office for Chemical and Biological Defense (JSTO-CBD) U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Chemical Biological Center (DEVCOM CBC) The CPE CBRND’s focus is to survey current industry capabilities in the development, testing, and manufacturing of miniature sensing elements for chemical and biological threat detection. This RFI aims to identify innovative solutions and assess the readiness of industry partners to address emerging operational needs effectively. Reference document CCDC CBC-TR-1689 provides additional context for this effort. Technologies must meet the following requirements: Miniaturized sensing elements capable of class-based sensing of chemical and biological threat agents with sufficient specificity to suppress signals from environmental interferants common in urban and battlefield situations Transduction mechanisms and integrated components that adhere to constraints on size, complexity, cost, and power budget Scalable manufacturing methods using Application-Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) techniques Responses to this RFI are requested no later than Wednesday, June 17, 2026. Please respond to this RFI with the following details of your systems’ capability: White papers, concept briefs, and technical insights that detail the design feasibility, integration paths, operational readiness, and sustainment strategies for any solutions capable of meeting the above criteria. Ideal responses will include: Technical description of proposed approach, summary of relevant experience or past performance, estimated timelines and scalability, identified sustainment considerations, potential cost drivers, and risk factors. PSC Recommendation: 6665 Hazard-Detecting Instruments and Apparatus NAICS Code Recommendation: 541715 Research and Development in the Physical, Engineering, and Life Sciences (except Nanotechnology and Biotechnology)
