AI Summary
The Department of Defense is seeking capabilities for a Breacher's Technicians Mask that meets specific operational and safety standards. Interested parties should provide white papers detailing design feasibility, integration paths, and sustainment strategies. The mask must support operations in high-risk environments and include features like integrated communications and ergonomic design. Responses are encouraged to demonstrate adaptability and modularity.
JPEO-CBRND's JPM CBRN Special Operations Forces (SOF) Do you have a capability that enables development of a Breacher's Technicians Mask? The Joint Project Manager for Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Special Operations Forces (JPM CBRN SOF), within the Joint Program Executive Office for Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Defense (JPEO-CBRND) acquires and equips Special Operations and Special Purpose Forces with critical CBRN defense equipment necessary for mission success. JPM CBRN SOFs focus is to further develop crucial technologies necessary for survival and unimpeded operations in denied CBRN environments. These technologies are transitioned to other Programs of Record as appropriate to enhance the capability of the Joint Force. If you have a capability or technology relevant to a Breacher's Technicians Mask, specifically: A system to support Breachers in high-risk, high-heat, and chemically hostile environments while meeting operational performance and ergonomic standards. With the following, desired attributes: ? Form Factor & Fit One-piece helmet configuration No components resting directly on the users face Capable of being donned within 120 seconds Must accommodate users with facial hair without compromising protection ? Protection & Safety Standards Must meet or exceed all safety requirements of the Avon M53 mask Ballistic protection (desired but not required) Heat resistance rated up to 8000°F Integrated hearing protection without external accessories (e.g., Peltors) ? Air Supply & Communications Integration Operates via supplied air system All air and comms connections routed through the back of the helmet Fully integrated communications solution (not reliant on external comms devices) ? Ergonomics & Weight Distribution Lightweight and balanced; weight must be evenly distributed, not concentrated at the front ? Integrated Capabilities & Enhancements Built-in lighting options Interface-ready for wearables, Heads-Up Displays, and Android Team Awareness Kit. Shade level 5 transition lens technology or deployable protective visor Optional mounting capability for auxiliary devices (e.g., cameras, strobes) Cooling capability (desired but optional) Helmet must support hydration and nutrition pathways Please respond to this RFI, with the following details of your systems capability: White papers, concept briefs, and technical insights that detail the design feasibility, integration paths, operational readiness, and sustainment strategies for such a system. Solutions that show adaptability to modular personal protective equipment environments and acknowledge future integration are encouraged. Ideal responses will include: Technical description of proposed approach, summary of relevant experience or past performance, estimated production timelines and scalability, identified sustainment considerations, potential cost drivers and risk factors. Please visit the JETT page, respond to an RFI, and share your capability with us. https://www.jpeocbrnd.osd.mil/Work-With-Us/JETT-Joint-Enterprise-Technology-Tool/ We look forward to meeting with you.
