    DESCRIPTION/SPECIFICATIONS/WORK STATEMENT


    INTRODUCTION
    This solicitationis part of a comprehensive Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program for U.S Embassy in Lusaka, Zambia. IPM is a planned program for routine pest suppression. The IPM program is based on the implementation of three critical elements:


    This contract is for recurring pest control services at U.S Embassy Lusaka, Zambia. The Contracting Officer shall issue task orders identifying the buildings and/or sites requiring pest control. The work shall be accomplished in a manner which conforms to the intent of all applicable Department of State (DOS) safety, health, and environmental policies, standards and regulations. 


    C.2 GENERAL SCOPE OF WORK
    The Contractor shall adequately suppress indoor populations of rats, mice, cockroaches, ants, flies, stinging insects, moths, mosquitoes, or any other arthropod pests not specifically excluded from the contract. Populations of these pests that are located outside of the specified buildings, but within the property boundaries of the buildings shall be included. Services shall also include control of insects and fungi, which can cause damage to outdoor ornamentals, plants, and turf.

    The contract shall also include indoor and outdoor populations of subterranean termites, non-subterranean termites, wood-boring beetles, fungi, and other wood-destroying organisms, which destroy and weaken structural components of Government buildings. The Contractor shall control these pest categories inside of buildings where they appear on an incidental or infrequent basis.

    Structural modifications for pest control, including the application of caulk and other sealing materials are encouraged. Individual delivery orders may include requirements for their use.

    Recurring pest control services at U.S Embassy Lusaka, Zambia. Post shall issue task orders identifying the buildings and/or sites requiring pest control.  The work shall be accomplished in a manner which conforms to the intent of all applicable Department of State (DOS) safety, health, and environmental policies, standards and regulations. 

    The anticipated performance period is for a base year, with four one-year option periods, if exercised by the Government. All responsible sources may submit a quotation, which will be considered.

    The resultant contract will be a firm fixed price type contract.
