    Description

    This is not a solicitation announcement. This is a sources sought notice to obtain market information and determine appropriate strategies to meet the Agency's requirements. This sources sought notice is issued solely for information and planning purposes, does not constitute a Request for Quote (RFQ), and in no way obligates the Government to award any contract. The primary mission of the Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation) is to manage water resources; one aspect of achieving success in this endeavor is educating the public on water conservation and water resource management. To this end, Reclamation built, operates, and maintains the American River Water Education Center (ARWEC), a facility for public education on water resources management. The ARWEC is located at Reclamation's Central California Area Office in Folsom, California near Folsom Dam. The center is adjacent to the American River Parkway, a popular and busy bike trail. This convenient location causes an increase in public access and an associated increase in usage of the center. The ARWEC utilizes this high exposure to extend its educational programs even outside of the building by using the grounds as demonstration gardens showcasing native as well as drought tolerant plants. The specialized garden requires the ARWEC to have expert support in maintaining the grounds. Additional details regarding the efforts are provided in the attached draft Performance Work Statement. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this service is 561730, Landscaping Services, with a small business size standard of 9.5 million dollars. This notice is to assist the Bureau of Reclamation in determining potential sources only. All firms responding to this sources sought notice are advised that their response to this notice is not a request to be considered for a contract award. Reimbursement will not be made for any costs associated with providing information to this sources sought. All interested parties must respond to any subsequent solicitation notice. Competition and set-aside decisions may be based on the results of this market research. Firms interested in being considered for these services should submit a capability statement and provide evidence in sufficient detail that demonstrates the respondent¿s ability to meet the stated requirements.
