The Bearing is ~32.25 OD x 19 LG and Cap has < 375 SQ IN of parting half surface area. The bearing pinch needs to be increased from 0.001 clear to 0.000-0.001 interference at TDC (not to exceed 0.003 interference worst case) and a satisfactory blue check following pinch correction. There shall be 75% overall contact inside the bolt pattern and areas of noncontact should be distributed, not concentrated in one area only. Contractors will work IAW Drawing 662E662 Bearing Cap 2nd Red. Gear FWD and LTR 9241 Ser 05V/004 dtd 5 Jan17 CVN 68 class Main Reduction Gear Bull Gear Journal Bearings recommendations. Support shall include up to two (2) Contractors to perform scraping on one (1) 8-hour shift Monday through Friday, and the possibility of Saturday and Sunday, to meet schedule requirements.
