The Space Development Agency (SDA) is responsible for defining and developing the Department of Defense threat-driven space architecture and accelerating the development and fielding of new military space capabilities necessary to ensure U.S. technological and military advantage in space. To achieve this mission, SDA will unify and integrate next-generation space capabilities to deliver the Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture (PWSA), a resilient military sensing and data transport capability in Low Earth Orbit (LEO). The mission to deliver low-latency data transport and develop sensor-to-shooter and direct-to-weapon connectivity is critical to the Joint All Domain Command and Control (JADC2) approach to sense, make sense, and act at all levels and phases of war and across all domains, and to deliver information advantage at the speed of relevance.
SDA is constructing satellites and ground stations with a Battle Management Command, Control and Communications (BMC3) capability that will support advanced decision-making from space, enabling the PWSA to react to emerging technology in the ever-evolving threat environment. SDA is dedicated to promptly delivering, from ideation to deployment, mission-specific software solutions, leveraging existing on-orbit systems, and data flows within a matter of months. Objectives for software solutions provided under this BAA include automating numerous processes within current architectures and providing additional capabilities for mission processing and data fusion.
