The Army Research Directorate (ARD) at the Army Research Laboratory (ARL) requires one (1) handheld scrap analyzer in accordance with the following specifications: Shall be handheld. Shall utilize x-ray tube, Rhodium (Rh) anode of 50 kilovolt (kV). Shall have high resolution. Shall analyze all alloy base metal and aluminum alloy elements to include; Magnesium (Mg), Aluminum (Al), Silicon (Si), Phosphorus (P), Sulfur (S), Scandium (Sc), Titanium (Ti), Vanadium (V), Chromium (Cr), Manganese (Mn), Iron (Fe), Cobalt (Co), Nickel (Ni), Copper (Cu), Zinc (Zn), Strontium (Sr), Zirconium (Zr), Niobium (Nb), Molybdenum (Mo), Palladium (Pd), Silver (Ag), Cadmium (Cd), Tin (Sn), Antimony (Sb), Hafnium (Hf), Tantalum (Ta), Tungsten (W), Rhenium (Re), Gold (Au), Lead (Pb), Bismuth (Bi) Shall include silicone drift detector (SDD) detection. Shall have one (1) lithium-ion (Li-Ion) battery. Shall have a battery charger. Shall have a rugged carrying case. Shall have a minimum of two (2) spare analysis windows. Shall have a power supply. Shall include a training manual. Shall include a minimum of a one (1) year warranty.
