SOLE SOURCE-MAGVIEW FOR RED LAKE HOSPITAL

NOTICE OF INTENT TO ISSUE SOLE SOURCE AWARD

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Indian Health Service (IHS), Bemidji Area intends to award a Firm Fixed Priced Contract on a sole source basis to Applied Software Inc. for the Red Lake Hospital in Red Lake MN.

The sole source action will be issued under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.501(a) - only one source reasonably available. Applied Software is already in use for MagViews mammography tracking program.  This service is proprietary to the manufacturer and it’s specific software. This company works directly under the MQSA compliance rules and reporting.  We are inspected annually by the MQSA/FDA.  By having this software it allows us to stay in proper compliance.  We currently have a cimarron interface within our RIS system to allow this software "talk" to RPMS.  If we advertised to open market to compete this contract we'd have to purchase another interface which would not be beneficial to the government.

Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. In doing so, interested sources must submit technical capabilities, and other information that demonstrates their ability to meet the Government's needs.
