    Description

High winds in late June resulted in a large number of damaged trees in the Baldhill Dam/Lake Ashtabula Recreation Area, located 10 miles north of Valley City, North Dakota. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers ? St. Paul District requires a contractor to remove 50-75 blow-over, storm damaged trees in the Eggerts Landing Campground on and between campsites 17-29 and 36-38. Work area is located in the north loop of the Eggerts Landing Campground. Access is through the campground. Work will be performed Monday ? Thursday, to avoid busy weekend periods. Contractor will be responsible for disposal of all tree material off-site. Trees to be removed consist mostly of large Eastern Cottonwoods, which are up to 100 ft tall and between 24-36 in DBH (diameter at breast height). Many large broken off branches will also need to be removed during this process. There are also Green Ash, Box Elder and Elm that are impacted and may require removal. Many of the trees are hung up and tangled and may require special equipment and skills to remove safely. Final stump height shall be less than 3 ft. Stumps will be left in place. All work onsite will be completed within 3 weeks of starting. In order for contractors to conduct business with the Department of Defense, the contractor must provide registration information to the System for Award Management (SAM). All Offerors must be fully registered in SAM prior to receiving an award, to include a current FAR and DFARS Representations and Certifications Report. Registration instructions may be obtained, and online registration may be accomplished, at www.sam.gov.
