The NAVAL MEDICAL RESEARCH UNIT SOUTH (NAMRU-S) Parasitology Department is seeking to purchase services for the Study entitled “Malaria surveillance in Datem-del-Marañon and remote endemic areas of Peru”. The country where the activities will be carried out is Peru.
Place of Performance: NAMRU-South – Lima Peru.
The requirement is for 06 months.
The contractor shall provide services including (but not limited to) project management, ethical and regulatory approval, collection and identification of human samples and malaria screening.
The contractor shall provide all supplies for sample collection and malaria microscopy screening. NAMRU SOUTH will provide some reagents and supplies for collection and or testing depending on funding availability.
In addition, the contractor shall provide malaria disease incidence data available from direct sources such as active human subject studies or indirectly from local health authorities.
The study sites will be located in:
Peru:
• Loreto Department
• Other sites as requested by NAMRU SOUTH
Monitoring activities will be conducted by NAMRU SOUTH via monthly conference calls and visits to selected field sites during the contract period. Monthly, short reports are expected during the conduction of the study.
If capable sources are not identified through this notice, then NAMRU South intends to award a sole source contract under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(i) to Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia for the requirements of NAMRU-South.
This pre-solicitation is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation document exists for the requirement. Sources interested in responding to this notice are required to submit a capability statement that includes management and technical data and cost information, in sufficient detail and with convincing evidence that clearly demonstrates the capability to perform the required work. Capability statements shall not exceed 5 (8.5 x 11 inch) pages using a font size no smaller than 10-point. All capability statements received by the due date of this notice will be considered by the Government. A request for documentation or additional information or submissions that only ask questions will not be considered as an affirmative response. A determination by the Government not to compete based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement or to proceed with a sole source contract.
