AI Summary
The Department of Defense is seeking proposals for the manufacturing of submersible cable assemblies and connectors, requiring a Non-Conductive Coating applied via Thermal Spray. The project is set to run from June 12, 2026, to August 12, 2026, and involves 39 electrical connectors that need coating to meet Navy specifications.
SCOPE:
Trident Refit Facility Bangor (TRFB) performs maintenance, repairs, modernization modifications, and restoration of SSBN 726 Class Submarines. To fulfill mission requirements, organic fabrication of electrical cable assemblies that are exposed to submergence sea pressure is required. To meet submersible cable assembly manufacturing requirements of Reference 2.1, the associated submersible cable connectors that are molded into submersible cable assemblies must be coated with a Non-Conductive Coating (NCC) applied via Plasma Spray (Thermal Spray) to the requirements of Reference 2.2. Current baseline conditions: Thirty-nine National Stock Numbered (NSN) electrical connectors have been received from Navy Supply without the required application of NCC.
Period of Performance: 12 June 2026 through 12 August 2026.
