    The California National Guard, San Diego, CA is issuing this sources sought synopsis as a means of conducting market research to identify potential sources having an interest and industry technologies available to support/provide the aircraft towing equipment.

    The result of this market research will contribute to determining the method of procurement, if a requirement materializes. Based on the responses to this sources sought notice/market research, this requirement may be brand name effort and/or set-aside for small businesses (in full or in part) or procured through full and open competition. Multiple awards may be made. All small business set-aside categories will be considered. Telephone inquiries will not be accepted or acknowledged, and no feedback or evaluations will be provided to companies regarding submissions.

    The Counterdrug Task Force requires a reliable, safe, and efficient solution for towing aircraft weighing up to 120,000 lbs. It requires precision maneuverability in confined spaces, made possible through 360-degree turning and zero radius steering. To enhance operator safety and visibility, the tug must include wireless remote-control functionality. An all-electric, mission-free powertrain is essential to ensure environmentally responsible operation with reduced noise and maintenance. The design must be low-profile to accommodate aircraft with minimal ground clearance and feature universal nose gear compatibility without the need for additional adaptors. Additional requirements include durable performance in all weather conditions, fail-safe braking systems, and sufficient battery endurance with fast-charging or swappable power options to support continuous operations.
