Total length of slope flattening is approximately 2.18 miles and includes site excavation and re-use of approximately 15,000 cubic yard levee embankment fill and borrow site excavation and import of approximately 12,000 cubic yard levee embankment fill. The work also includes the relocation of utilities, construction of a 12-foot maintenance road at the landside toe, and tree removal. Activities that impact the levee prism will only be permitted between 15 April and 1 November. The estimated cost for the project is $10,000,000 to $13,000,000. The Government intends to solicit an Invitation for Bids (IFB) that will result in award of a firm-fixed price contract.
