This notice is issued solely for informational and planning purposes and does not constitute a solicitation or firm requirement. The Army Contracting Command-Rock Island (ACC-RI) is utilizing a Sources Sought for Market Research to determine if other vendors have the capability to fulfill the requirement. This is strictly a Request for Information (RFI) for a tentative requirement for an Auto Lift - Rail Lifter. This RFI is in support of the Military Ocean Terminal, Sunny Point (MOTSU), North Carolina. The U.S. Government will use the responses received for information / planning purposes and to identify potential sources as part of market research. The Auto Lift - Rail Lifter is a self-propelled piece of rail transport maintenance of way (MOW) equipment that automatically lifts one or both rail tracks to a specific height so that plates can be inserted between the rail and the rail tie. The Auto Lift – Rail Lifter allows the equipment operator(s) to ensure tie plate insertion and positioning is completed safely and properly. The Auto Lift – Rail Lifter supports high production levels while performing railway maintenance. For the Salient Characteristics, please see attachment 0001. All information received in response to the RFI marked Proprietary will be protected and handled accordingly. Interested parties are responsible for adequately marking proprietary or competition sensitive information contained in their response. Responders are solely responsible for all expenses associated with responding to this RFI. ACC-RI will not pay for information received in response to this RFI.
