It is neither a solicitation announcement nor a request for proposals or quotes and does not obligate the Government to award a contract. Requests for a solicitation will not receive a response. Responses to this Sources Sought must be in writing. The Albany VA Medical Center, 113 Holland Avenue Albany NY 12208 has a requirement for construction services. The main project area includes the demolition and renovation of the Albany VAMC main hospital 2nd floor core space between A wing and B wing, totaling approximately 5000 square feet. This area will transform old lab space into a stand-alone surgical unit including all support spaces according to the VA Design Guide for Surgical and Endovascular Services. This unit will include two functions: a Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory suite and a Vascular Interventional Radiology suite. Both suites include working with third-party vendors of high-tech, high-cost equipment to ensure the spaces are fully functional for the new equipment. The installation of the supporting utilities includes work outside of the main project area, including a subbasement electrical room. The project also includes the demolition and renovation of approximately 1300 square feet of main hospital 2nd floor B wing for corridor and storage areas and the demolition and renovation of approximately 600 square feet of main hospital 3rd floor core/Awing space for the mechanical room to support the new suites. This project includes hazardous material abatement, demolition, architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, structural, nurse call/code blue, medical gas, telecommunications, and finishes work, and coordination with third-party high-tech high-cost vendors. The work is expected to occur in two main phases. The magnitude of this project is between 5 million and 10 million. The NAICS Code is 236220 "Commercial and Institutional Building Construction", with a size standard of $45M. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered by the Albany VA Medical Center. This is not a solicitation.
