The Salem VA Medical Center (VAMC), Salem, Virginia, is issuing this source sought synopsis as a means of conducting market research to identify parties having an interest in and the resources to support this requirement for Renovate Main Lobby, Project # 658-24-104. The result of this market research will contribute to determining the method of procurement. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code assigned to this procurement is 236220 Commercial and Institutional Building Construction. Work includes general construction, alterations, selective demolition, and certain other items as indicated in the drawings and specifications for Project 658-24-104 Renovate Main Lobby. The project includes the renovation of 30,000 square feet of floor space of building 143 Lobby including removal and replacement of ceiling tiles, flooring, and baseboard; all walls and trim will be prepared and repainted, to include removal of wallpaper; columns will be prepared, repainted, and baseboard/tiles removed and replaced; handrails, wall guards and corner protectors shall be removed and replaced; all flooring (ceramic tile, vinyl tile, carpet, rubber at entryway, and all tile and rubber baseboards) will be removed and replaced; flooring replacement extends into Café Room BA-102 customer area, atrium and three (3) skylights will be resealed and repaired as needed; five (5) restrooms (Rooms BA100, BA101, BB100, BB101, and BB153) will be remodeled to meet both ABAAS compliance and VA Barrier Free design requirements; THERE IS NO SOLICITATION AT THIS TIME. This request for capability information does not constitute a request for proposals; submission of any information in response to this market survey is purely voluntary; the government assumes no financial responsibility for any costs incurred.
