    SCOPE OF WORK FOR EMERGENCY ROOM DOOR PROJECT PROVIDE: Professional construction services to include but not limited to: Site investigation- Mechanical, electrical, plastering, painting and construction. Construction period of services- Furnish and Install all items. Infection Control Risk Assessment- Barriers above and below ceiling, tack mats and poly plastic covering. GENERAL: The Wilmington, Delaware VA Medical Center intends to issue a construction contract. The project consists of: Remove existing door and doorway material. Supply and install new hollow metal door frame and door. Supply and install stucco and wire mesh. Connect PIV reader to door SPECIFICS: The contractor shall furnish all materials, equipment, supervision, and personnel necessary to accomplish the project as indicated. Remove existing door and doorway material. Supply and install new hollow metal door frame and door. Supply and install stucco and wire mesh. Address the stone walkway area directly in front of doorway. Infection control and safety measures shall be provided per the contract specifications throughout the construction period to minimize risks. All work shall be completed in accordance with the latest ANSI, VA, UFAS, local, state and federal regulations. All work to be performed on Monday through Friday from 8am till 430pm each evening. All employees of the general contractor and subcontractors shall comply with the VA security management program and obtain permission of the VA police, be identified by project and employer, and restricted from unauthorized access. Prior to commencing work, the general contractor shall provide proof that an OSHA certified competent person (CP)(29 CFR 1926.20(b)(2) shall maintain a presence at the work site whenever the general or subcontractors are present. The general contractor shall implement the requirements of the VA Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) team, including the establishment and maintenance of a dust control program. Prior to the start of work, the general contractor must prepare a plan detailing project-specific dust protection measure, including periodic status reports, and submit to the COR and Facility ICRA team for review. -- Environmental/Occupational Safety and Health (EOSH) EXPECTATION: All projects and project designs shall contain language that addresses all applicable EOSH requirements. Regulatory Compliance EOSH requirements for work performed at the above location can be found in: Volume 29 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Part 1910 Occupational Safety for General Industry Volume 29 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Part 1926 Occupational Safety for The Construction Industry Volume 40 of the Code of Federal Regulations Protection of The Environment Volume 49 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Part 397 Transportation of Hazardous Materials Title 7 of the Delaware Code Conservation Title 16 of the Delaware Code Health and Safety Specifications The VA Master Construction Specifications contain work procedures and material requirements designed to meet regulatory compliance requirements. Whenever possible, the Master Construction Specifications must be used as the basis for project designs.
