    Description

    Please be aware that this is an extensive bid. All Suppliers are cautioned to allow ample time for the submittal of RFP responses well before the due date time requirement. Bids must be submitted via the eBid system. The University of Iowa (hereafter, The University/University) located in Iowa City, Iowa, desires to obtain written proposals from qualified Suppliers to provide Artificial Intelligence academic sales training software that is currently on the market. Questions regarding the bid may be submitted by registered Suppliers via the Questions tab within eBid prior to the question cutoff date. All Supplier questions and the University answers to those questions will be published sometime after the Questions close deadline for all interested Suppliers to review. --- Q&A --- Q1: Is local presence or state registration required? A1: It is not required for a Supplier to have a local presence in the State of Iowa in order to do business with the University. Supplier does not have to be registered in Iowa before you may bid. Supplier would be required to register in Iowa if your company is the chosen Supplier. Submitted: 2/16/2026 10:07:31 AM (CT) Q2: Are there restrictions on re-using learnings across clients? A2: The University has detailed the standard requirements for this request for proposal. In the event a Supplier is unable to meet a requirement they will need to detail any exceptions as part of their proposal. • Contractor agrees that any computer programs, software, documentation, copyrightable work, discoveries, inventions, or improvements (hereinafter “Work”) developed by Contractor solely or with others, resulting from the performance of Contractor’s responsibilities and obligations pursuant to this Agreement are “works made for hire” and the property of the University. If for any reason the Work would not be considered a work made for hire under applicable law, Contractor does hereby sell, assign, and transfer to the University, its successors and assigns, the entire right, title and interest in and to the Work, including but not limited to exclusive rights to reproduce, distribute, prepare derivative works, display and perform the Work. Contractor agrees to provide whatever assistance is necessary for the University to preserve its commercial interest in the Work including, but not limited to, the filing of patent and copyright protection. Contractor represents, warrants, and covenants that: (a) any and all services shall only be provided by its partners, directors, officers, employees or subcontractors physically residing within the United States of America when such services include the use of or access to University Data by such partners, directors, officers, employees or subcontractors, and (b) Contractor shall ensure that any University Data accessed, maintained, or stored by it shall never be transferred outside the jurisdiction of the United States of America and shall never be transferred to, or accessed by, anyone from outside the United States of America, or with respect to University Data by anyone who is not a partner, director, officer, employee or University-approved subcontractor of Contractor. Any modification to the foregoing limitation shall require the express written consent of the University, which consent may be withheld in University’s sole discretion. A4: Use of open-source models and frameworks is subject to internal security, legal, and compliance review prior to approval. All technologies are evaluated against our Prohibited Technology List, and any models or frameworks identified as restricted (including those explicitly listed) are not permitted for use in our solutions. Submitted: 2/12/2026 09:45:29 AM (CT) Q5: Is FedRAMP, SOC 2, ISO 27001, or similar compliance required? A5: UNIVERSITY DATA. 31.1. Data Privacy and Security. Contractor represents and warrants that its collection, access, use, storage, disposal and disclosure of University Data does and will comply with all applicable international, federal, state and local data privacy and data protection laws, as well as all other applicable regulations. Without limiting the foregoing, the Contractor represents and warrants that Contractor at a minimum meets the SSAE 18 SOC 2 Type II auditing standards, and/or shall undertake any additional audits and risk assessments Contractor deems necessary to maintain the same. Upon request, Contractor shall provide a final audit report from an independent auditor on its controls including a detailed description of the audit firm’s tests of the operating effectiveness of controls. Contractor agrees to indemnify and hold harmless University from any claims arising out of its failure to comply with the foregoing requirements. 30. ACCESSIBLE TECHNOLOGY. Technology provided to the University shall comply with World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 AA and Revised Section 508 Standards for accessibility for persons with disabilities. Technology includes, but is not limited to, software, hardware, web applications, web pages, websites, and nonweb technologies. The University reserves the right to request that the Contractor provide acceptable audit and/or test results that document the technology’s compliance and the testing methodology utilized. If the technology provided by Contractor does not meet WCAG 2.1 AA and Revised Section 508 standards, the University may demand that the Contractor promptly make modifications that will bring them into compliance. In addition, the University may take whatever steps necessary to ensure compliance with the above listed standards and may subtract any costs arising from such mitigation effort from future fees payable to Contractor under this Contract.
